planns should just happen.
planning with friends shouldn’t feel like pulling teeth. here’s what we believe, and what we’re building to fix it.
“anyone free saturday?” … four maybes later, you’re eating alone.
What we’re building
Planns removes the friction. Set a threshold — the minimum people needed — and a plan only goes live when enough commit. No more organizing for nothing.
But it’s more than fixing group chats. See a run in your neighborhood at 6pm? Join it. Want tacos but nobody’s free? Find someone who is. We make it easy to do things with people — friends, or strangers who share your interests.
Why a threshold
Commitment is contagious — but someone has to go first, and nobody wants to. A threshold flips that. You’re not promising you’ll be there no matter what; you’re saying “I’m in if enough others are.” Low risk, easy yes.
So plans build momentum instead of dying in indecision. Everyone watches the count climb, and the moment it hits, it’s real — locked in, on the calendar, actually happening.
Less scrolling, more doing
Most apps are built to keep you watching. Planns is built to get you out the door — no infinite feed, no doomscroll, just the things you could actually go do this week, with people.
We think the best nights start with a plan, not a notification. Presence over content. Real rooms over comment sections.
Private by design
Your plans are yours. Private planns are end-to-end encrypted by default, and we’ll never sell your data or turn your social life into an ad-targeting profile.
We collect only what makes the app work, and you can delete all of it whenever you want. Trust isn’t a setting — it’s the foundation.
Where we’re going
Starting in Seattle, building toward a world where making planns doesn’t feel like pulling teeth, where the default is doing things together, not scrolling alone.
